The Daisy Mountain Firefighters Charities Association will host Ignite the Night, the Charities’ annual banquet and fundraiser on Saturday, September 6th at Anthem’s Ironwood Country Club. Festivities begin at 6 P.M. with dinner featuring Italian fare. The Charities will recognize members and partners for their service and the 2014 Firefighter-of-the-Year will be honored. The Charities will also raffle items generously donated by local businesses and friends of the Charities. This year’s raffle items include Disneyland tickets, a stay-cation package, a firearm, and golf packages. Tickets are just $50 each and are available at www.FirefightersCharities.com. HOPE in Anthem, a mother-daughter non-profit charity has teamed up with Anthem Pets, a local non-profit animal rescue, for Food for Fido Pet Food Drive July 28th – August 15th. Drop off barrels are stationed at PostNet in Anthem located at 3655 W Anthem Way. The hours of operation are Monday – Friday from 8am – 6pm and Saturday from 9am – 3pm. When Sabrina Seifert (13 year old, 8th Grade at Anthem Prep) discovered there was a pet food shortage she jumped on the chance to help. HOPE just completed a very successful clothing and supplies drive for the Veterans of Victory Place and Sabrina thought we could be just as successful with HOPE’s 1st food drive for Anthem Pets. NAAAP-member Anthem Giving Circle annually puts together backpacks with necessary school supplies for kids who need them. This year, the traditional funding source for this program is unavailable. To keep this program going, the Giving Circle is seeking contributions. Please consider supporting the program through a contribution through NAAAP following the instructions on the donations tab
Join the Daisy Mountain Firefighters on Saturday, July 12 from 7 to midnight at Peaks and Valleys Restaurant, 711 E. Carefree Hwy. Suite 160, Phoenix and help them help a family with purchase a much-needed van.
Would you like to help homeless veterans transition back into the mainstream? The young ladies of NAAAP-member organization HOPE are collecting items for Victory Place, a shelter and transitional living facility for homeless veterans. Collection is through July 11th. Needed items include backpacks, toiletries, men’s clothing, socks, underwear, non-perishable food items, new bed pillows and twin size sheet sets. Collection box is inside PostNet on Anthem Way at the Safeway Plaza. Please help our heroes.
